ARLINGTON, VA - For the second year in a row, The HealthCentral Network, Inc. (www.HealthCentral.com) received highest recognition with a Medical Standard of Excellence award from the Web Marketing Association's WebAwards. The WebAwards is the premier annual Web site award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries.
HealthCentral.com has also won honors from the Spring/Summer 2007 World Wide Web Health Awards for its Alzheimer's site, OurAlzheimers.com, and its diabetes site, MyDiabetesCentral.com. The WWW Health Awards, which recognize the best health information Web sites for consumers and professionals, awarded MyDiabetesCentral.com a Bronze award and OurAlzheimers.com a Merit award in the category of Patient Education Information.
The sites were judged on several criteria, including content, accuracy, overall quality, and ability to reach the target audience. HealthCentral.com's sites use a unique three-step approach to disease management: Find, Manage and Connect. These components provide information, resources and a rich community of individuals undergoing similar experiences.
HealthCentral.com's Breast Cancer site, MyBreastCancerNetwork.com, and its diet and exercise site, MyDietExercise.com, were also named finalists by the International Health and Medical Media Awards. HealthCentral.com is also a finalist in the Medical Marketing & Media (MM&M) Awards, set to be announced Nov. 1, 2007.
